Parrrrrty

Question, How do pirates file their taxes?

Answer, through the I Arrr S (get it? IRS?)

Where do pirates buy toys for their kids?

Toys Arrr Us.

Ha ha..OK, I'll stop. The point of these cheesy jokes is to tell you all about Christian's Pirate Party Celebration this past weekend (and to distract you from the fact that I've fallen off the face of the blogging world recently due to being tired and spending too much time on Facebook stalking boys that I used to like, that now look like crap and now I can say na na na na boo boo..wow, was that a run-on sentence or what?).

So the party was this past Sunday at a local park. The weather was forecasted at 40% scattered thunderstorms. I was a nervous nelly hoping that it wouldn't rain because I had no plan B. Like my friend Karen said "Hey Claudia, so what's your plan B?"..."um get wet". Well, I lucked out because it did not rain. Not only that, but it was nice and breezy, so it didn't feel Africa hot like it usually does in Miami. Thank God. Considering that I didn't have much time to plan the party and I did it while being sleep deprived, I don't think it turned out too bad.

The kids had a ball in the bounce house and in the playground as well. I had some poor guy dress as a pirate to entertain the kids, but none of them were in the mood for pirate party games. Even Christian refused to cooperate and sat on my lap the whole time. The poor pirate resorted to making balloon animals and swords. My friends teased me about his Spanish being better than his English, but that's because he was a true Pirate of the Caribbean (Cuba is in the Caribbean right?)...ha ha.

The piƱata went well too except that this time I think I didn't put enough candy in it (and last year I put too much, go figure...will I ever get it right?). Chris didn't want to pick up candy from the floor because he was so enthused with the loot bag I had just given him.

The cake was great, but it was falling apart, so we had to sing quickly before it disintegrated in the heat. When it was time to blow out the candles, Sophie beat him to it because CMan didn't want to. Mind you, he makes my mom and I sing Happy Birthday to him at least once a week just so he can blow out random candles he finds in her house, but on his actual birthday he did not want to. Who can understand him. I guess he's like his father and doesn't like to be the center of attention.

Even though CMan was being a real party pooper, I think everyone else enjoyed it and had fun. JJ was a good baby and slept through most of it. Speaking of Jordan, I need to do an update post soon. If I can tear myself away from Facebook that is...
