Bunny Pictures at last

A couple of days before Easter, my mom hid some eggs in her backyard so that CMan could practice his egg gathering skills (so that all the big kids wouldn't take all the eggs). This year, he would be prepared.

The day before Easter we dyed the eggs and turned our fingers all colors of the rainbow. The following morning the boys got their Easter baskets and I enjoyed watching their expressions as they checked out their loot. Even Jordan got into it.

Later that morning we headed to Manders house for an egg hunt. I think our egg finding practice session worked out well because CMan got 40 eggs! I turned him into an egg-picking-finding-putting-in-basket machine. Ha ha!

Happy Earth Day!

We should all take a moment and reflect on what steps we can take to reduce, reuse and recycle. This is something that should be done year round though, not just one week out of the year.

Although I've taken proactive steps to become more "green", I know that there are still many more things that I can and should do (recycle more? use cloth dish towels instead of paper towels? reusable bags instead of plastic?).

Today, ask yourself what steps have I taken to help the planet? What more can I do?

G.I. Jordan

Jordan is 8 months old today!

To celebrate we took him to the G.I. doctor due to several ongoing concerns of mine:

1. Does not like baby food one bit. On a good day, he eats 3 spoonfuls. On a bad day, he screams when he sees it.

2. Green poop (he does not eat any green food).

3. Not sleeping through the night.

4. Heart shaped tongue (tongue-tied?).

The verdict?

1. He weighed in at 18+ lbs. and measured 27.5 inches (37% and 50%) so he's not starving. The doc says we need to give him baby food and if he doesn't want it, try again in half an hour and keep doing that until it's time for his next feeding. In other words, don't be so quick to give him the bottle if he refuses the food because he is manipulating us. If I say no to food, they give me bottle/boob. He said he should be eating breakfast, lunch, dinner (a whole jar of the big baby food...HA!) and milk bottles of 6-8 oz (with cereal) (18 oz a day is fine) and eating every 4 or 5 hours.

2. Green poop is OK sometimes. Will do poop culture to make sure there isn't any bad stuff in it.

3. Need to cut out the boob...and do a cry it out...and not put him in our bed (easier said than done buddy). If he has his bottle with cereal at 11pm, he should be fine until 6am. Any crying before that is due to bad habit and not hunger.

4. Tongue is prob not the reason he won't eat. Will do an upper G.I. to make sure the rest of his swallowing/eating anatomy is OK.

Fun times ahead huh?

In other news, his two bottom teeth are showing really well now, so I was able to photograph them. They came out approx 2 or 3 weeks ago. Check it out!

Oy, I forgot the Easter photos! Next time, oh and I also have to remember to tell you about Christian's swimming class fiasco. Let's just say it's very similar to the first time I took him to swim class.

Mama's been busy

I've been busy buying new toys and going broke (because of said toys). This is also the busy season at work, so you'll have to pardon my lack of bloggage. I have to admit that Facebook and Twitter are stealing me away from Blogger. It's so much easier to type a couple of sentences to let my peeps know what's going on, than having to sit down and actually put a cohesive paragraph (or two) together.

Worry not though, I shall continue with the blogging. I need it to track Jordan's milestones so that I don't forget when it comes time to write it in the baby book (his two bottom teeth came out last week!...first the left and then the right). I'll have to try and get a picture of them, but it's really hard because he sticks his tongue out when you pull his lip down to see them.

So, milestones, yes, let's get to those with the aid of my trusty new toy (Nikon D40). And what a wonderful new toy it is. All I do is press a little button and gorgeous pictures spew forth. Who knew it would be so easy?

Check out some pictures from our recent trip to the fair...ah the elephant ears, cinnamon rolls, cotton candy, ice cream, sausages...oh, I got a little carried away there (yes, the 20/20 plan is still going strong by the way). It was Jordan's first trip and he was none the wiser. Christian on the other hand went twice this year. The first time with Sophie and the second time with R, JJ and I. He had a great time because this year he was tall enough to ride most of the kiddie rides and was in no way scared (hey look, he grew 4 inches since last year and 6 inches since the year before that!). He loved the roller coaster and all the rides that go up and down and round and round (nauseating).

For the first time ever, he asked to have his face painted, but it proved to be a bad decision because he started rubbing his eyes and getting paint everywhere. He wanted it washed off before we even left the fair! R was pissed at what a waste of money that was. Consider it a lesson learned, no face paint for 3.5 year olds no matter how cute they look with it on.
